Following today’s Monday Magic show, Mayu Iwatani’s first defence of the GHC Women’s Championship since taking the belt from Takumi Iroha on the 3rd January has been confirmed.
Having teamed with Miku Aono in a successful outing against ZONES and Chi Chi at Monday Magic Rising Sun Season #1, Iwatani was confronted by Utami Hayashishita. The pair were already scheduled to compete in a special singles match at Mayu’s 15th Anniversary Show – ICON FOREVER – on the 24th January, but Hayashishita made it clear she wanted the match to be for the GHC Women’s Championship, with Iwatani agreeing to the challenge.
Mayu Iwatani’s 15th Anniversary Show: ICON FOREVER will air LIVE on WRESTLEUNIVERSE on January 24th and, as well as the aforementioned title match, will also feature Seri Yamaoka and Shinno challenging for Darkness Revolution’s Twinstar titles.
