BITE-SIZE SHOW REPORT: Stardom New Year Stars 2026 in Korakuen Hall – Night 1 (10/01/2026)

  • 36th Goddesses of Stardom Champions BMI2000 (Natsuko Tora (2) & Ruaka (1)) have been champions for 170 days – in their first reign. This will be the fourth title defence of their reign.
  • 02Line were crowned number one contenders to the championships after defeating Fukuoka Double Crazy and Sareee & Miku Kanae on the 3rd January in Shinjuku FACE.
  • This will be their first challenge as a team since May 2024, and their third overall.
  • Risa Sera makes her last Stardom appearance on this show, with her retirement show set to be on the 12th January. Prior to this show, she had wrestled 60 matches for the company, and is a former Artist of Stardom Champion alongside PROMINENCE members Suzu Suzuki and Hiragi Kurumi.
  • In a rather fitting final match, her final Stardom opponent will be HANAKO, who was given her first opportunity in wrestling at the PROMINENCE lineage of events, made her debut against Risa Sera back in 2022, and wrestled a series of events under the name ‘Fella Risa.’
  • Just prior to the show, it was announced that both Suzu Suzuki and Xena would be missing this show. It was confirmed that Xena would be back for the show on the 11th, while Suzu would miss both the shows on the 10th and 11th January before returning to action on the 12th.
  • Matoi Hamabe continues to be absent from Stardom shows after sustaining a knee injury during the second of the 3rd January Shinjuku FACE shows. At the time of writing, no timetable for her return has been announced.
  • Ema Maishima continues to be absent from Stardom shows through poor physical health. At the time of writing, no timetable for her return has been announced.
  • Following her defeat at Wrestle Kingdom 20, Saya Kamitani announced that she will be taking a short hiatus – described as paid leave – until 7th February to recover ahead of her next World of Stardom Championship defence at Supreme Fight in Osaka against Starlight Kid.
  • Attendance Notes: The attendance inside Korakuen Hall in Tokyo was 1,346. This is a 20.07% increase from the last time the company ran the venue (1,121 for the Korakuen Nighter show on the Christmas Eve) This is the twenty-second Korakuen Hall show in a row, and the twenty-sixth of the last twenty-seven, to surpass the 1000 mark.

Show Notes

  • After over a month of vignettes teasing the debut of a new roster member, the person was revealed to be former-International Princess Champion Maki Itoh, who signed a full-time contract with the company, and received her tracksuit in the ring from President Taro Okada. She will make her debut for the company at tomorrow’s Korakuen Hall event where she will team with Saori Anou against Sayakurara in tag team action.
  • Following her pinfall loss in the 8-woman tag team match, Saki Kashima announced that she would be retiring from professional wrestling on the 26th April at All-Star Grand Queendom in the Yokohama Arena.
  • After pinning the High-Speed Champion Yuna Mizumori, Yuki Mashiro made the challenge for her belt at the Stardom Award show on January 25th in Takadanobaba, which Mizumori accepted.
  • Following EXV’s defeat of Mi Vida Loca in tag team action, Maika took to the microphone and began baiting Rina for being second behind Suzu Suzuki, and telling them that the result will be the same when they meet in a unit match tomorrow at Korakuen Hall.
