- 20th World of Stardom Champion Saya Kamitani has been champion for 365 days – in her first reign. This will be the eighth title defence of her reign.
- Saya Kamitani has run through Cosmic Angels during her reign as World of Stardom Champion, taking the belt and then retiring Tam Nakano, defeating Cinderella Tournament winner Sayaka Kurara and then beating Natsupoi in July.
- Saya does not believe Saori to be worthy of the title, a notion not helped by Saori accidentally calling the title the Wonder of Stardom Championship during the closing remarks at Korakuen Hall on the 24th December.
- This will be Saori Anou’s first attempt at the World of Stardom Championship, and it will be the first singles match between the pair.
- The pair were separated at the press conference after a confrontation saw them inadvertently shove company president Taro Okada, and saw the challenger tear Kamitani’s dress. As revenge, Kamitani attacked Anou in her car while the challenger was advertising her and Natsupoi’s produce event outside Shin-Kiba 1st RING.
- A win for Saya Kamitani will see her move above Syuri into sixth on the all-time list of World of Stardom Champions in terms of length of reign.
- A win for Saya Kamitani will see her move level with Kagetsu into joint fifth in the all-time list of World of Stardom Champions in terms of successful title defences (8).
- Saya Kamitani’s 2025 singles record is 17-2, while her overall Stardom singles record is 72-36-12
- Saori Anou’s 2025 singles record in Stardom is 7-5-2, while her overall Stardom singles record is 23-21-7
- Saya Kamitani has never lost at Ryogoku Kokugikan, having wrestled six matches (five singles and one tag team) at the venue.
- Saori Anou meanwhile has won both of her Stardom matches at Ryogoku Kokugikan, and is 3-1 at the venue overall.
- 25th Wonder of Stardom Champion Konami has been champion for 56 days – in her first reign. This will be the first title defence of her reign.
- Konami ‘injured’ Saya Iida’s tag team partner Hanan earlier in the year. Iida pinned Konami in the Goddesses of Stardom Tag League, and then won a number one contendership match against Ami Sourei in Korakuen Hall to secure her match with the champion.
- Konami’s 2025 singles record is 11-12-0, while her overall Stardom singles record is 57-58-9
- Konami is 1-2 at Ryogoku Kokugikan, with her only victory coming as a part of Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport where she defeated Maya Fukuda (Kiyoka Kotatsu). She has lost both her Stardom singles matches at the venue.
- Saya Iida’s 2025 singles record in Stardom is 6-3-0, while her overall Stardom singles record is 43-66-6
- Saya Iida is 2-1 in Ryogoku Kokugikan (not including two rumble appearances), including securing the Goddesses of Stardom Championships last year alongside Hanan against Momo Watanabe and Thekla.
- Konami has a 2-0 record against Saya Iida in singles competition.
- Saya Iida is the second-most tenured wrestler in terms of matches wrestled (611, putting her at tenth in the all time list) to have never challenged for one of Stardom’s top two belts – the first being Ruaka (671)
- Natsupoi and Sareee are real-life best friends.
- Earlier this year, Natsupoi gave an interview saying she had lost the fire for wrestling. She credited Sareee for reigniting that passion.
- Initially, Sareee refused to face Natsupoi in singles competition as she didn’t want to face a Natsupoi that isn’t 100%. However, following some intense in-ring exchanges she gave an interview praising her friend and saying that, should she win this match, she should parlay this into setting her sights on the World of Stardom Championship again.
- Sareee holds a 2-0 singles record over Natsupoi, with their last match taking place on January 4th 2020 in TJPW.
- This will be Sareee’s first Stardom match at Ryogoku Kokugikan, though she is 2-1at the venue having lost earlier this year to Syuri for the IWGP Women’s Championship at King of Pro-Wrestling.
- Natsupoi meanwhile is 3-4 at Ryogoku Kokugikan, with five of those matches happening for Stardom. However, she has lost her lost three matches at the venue, including last year’s loss of the Wonder of Stardom Championship to Starlight Kid.
- Sareee’s 2025 Stardom singles record is 10-2-1, while her overall overall 2025 singles record stands at an impressive 21-7-2. Her overall Stardom singles record is 10-3-1.
- Natsupoi’s 2025 Stardom singles record is 6-4-1, while her overall Stardom singles record is 46-38-9
- 36th Goddesses of Stardom Champions BMI2000 (Natsuko Tora (2) & Ruaka (1)) have been champions for 158 days – in their first reign. This will be the third title defence of their reign.
- A victory for the champions would see them become only the second team since Fukuoka Double Crazy in 2022 – 11 champions ago – to make it to three successful title defences. The other being the previous champions Winggori.
- BMI2000 have only wrestled at Ryogoku Kokugikan once, and that was a loss in a three-way tag team match to crown new number one contenders back in 2022. Ruaka is yet to win at the venue in six attempts – though one of those was a battle royal in March of 2022.
- Sayakurara (Aya Sakura and Sayaka Kurara) earned this shot after winning the 2025 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League, defeating BMI2000 in the finals when Kurara pinned Tora.
- This match will be the challenger’s first as a team in Ryogoku Kokugikan. Sayaka Kurara has wrestled twice at the venue, losing in 2023 as a part of a 6-woman tag team match before going to a time-limit draw against Ranna Yagami last year. Aya meanwhile won her only match at the venue in last year’s pre-show alongside Yuna Mizumori against Matoi Hamabe and Chi Chi.
- A lot of parallels have been drawn between the style and aesthetic of Sayakurara and DREAM SHiNE (Tam Nakano and Arisa Hoshiki) that won the tournament in 2019, with Kurara compared to Tam, and Aya with Arisa.
- YouTuber Fuwa-chan made a return to a Stardom ring during the opening night of the Goddesses of Stardom Tag League in Korakuen Hall where she stated that she wished to wrestle again. Before this, she had been silent on social media for over a year following controversy regarding unsavoury remarks she made towards fellow comedian Yasuko in August 2024. She would then ask Hazuki – who had helped to train her during her only two previous wrestling matches – on the 8th December Korakuen Hall show to be her first opponent in her re-debut at Dream Queendom.
- In her previous two wrestling matches, Fuwa-chan had teamed with Hazuki, losing on both occasions, first on the opening night of the 2022 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League and then against at All-Star Grand Queendom 2023.
- Hazuki got very emotional at the Dream Queendom press conference, stating ‘I truly think Fuwa-chan is awkward, just like me, and often misunderstood by people around her. But I’ve been right beside her and seen her incredibly kind side, the parts of her that struggle and worry, and the parts that feel such deep frustration. I’ve seen all those different sides of her. That’s why I’m so happy that she chose professional wrestling, and that she said she wanted her re-debut match to be against me… Yes! That’s how I feel! I decided not to cry, but I cried anyway!’ (translation courtesy of @merawrestling)
- This will only be Hazuki’s third Stardom singles match of 2025, with her record sitting at 1-1, while her overall Stardom singles record is 63-61-22
- Maika returned to action for the first time since the 6th May at the 12/8 Korakuen Hall show having missed almost 7 months due to an elbow injury she had been suffering from for three years. Meanwhile, Xena returned at the same show, having been out of action for almost 14 months with a long-term knee injury.
- Starlight Kid returns to action on this show after being missing since dropping the White Belt to Konami at Crimson Nightmare in November 3rd to recover from injury. She missed the 2025 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League, but came to the ring and addressed the fans at Stardom’s 21st December show in Osaka to state that she will be returning to the ring at Dream Queendom in Ryogoku Kokugikan in December 29th.
- Matoi Hamabe and Anne Kanaya debuted at the end of 2024 and the start of 2025 respectively. However, both sustained long-term injuries shortly after their debuts – Matoi Hamabe missing over 10 months of action due to sustaining a knee injury and Anne Kanaya missing 8 months of action due to an injury on her hand sustained in the dojo. In the interim, Ema Mishima and Kikyo Furusawa debuted in Stardom. This is very much a match of different classes of rookie in Stardom with Ema and Kikyo wanting to surpass Matoi and Anne.
- Attendance Notes: The attendance inside Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo was 6,563, a number which Stardom advertised a sell-out. Not only is this comfortably Stardom’s highest attendance at the venue of the eight times they have run it, beating out the 4,023 of last year’s event by 63.14%, but it is also Stardom’s second highest stand-alone attendance behind the 7,503 they drew to Yokohama Arena on April 27th, meaning that Stardom have recorded their first and second-highest attendances in the same year. The number is the second-highest recorded at Ryogoku Kokugikan this calendar year, losing out to NJPW Sakura Genesis (6,640) by less that a hundred people, while outdrawing King of Pro-Wrestling by 22.17%. The attendance is also the highest female-only number at Ryogoku Kokugikan since 1996, and AJW’s last show at the venue.

- After the culmination of the Rumble, Yuzuki Aikawa took to the microphone and challenged Yuria Hime to a singles match at one of Stardom’s four upcoming Korakuen Hall events coming up during January. This will be Aikawa’s first singles match since her retirement match on 29th April 2013 against Yoshiko inside Ryogoku Kokugikan.
- Following the Wonder of Stardom Championship match, Rina confronted her H.A.T.E stablemate and current Wonder of Stardom Champion Konami to officially challenge her for the title.
- Starlight Kid challenged Saya Kamitani to a match for the World of Stardom Championship following the main-event, with the match between the pair confirmed to be taking place at Stardom Supreme Fight in Osaka in February.
